“Information Literacy Education” by “IISIA Todai Prep-School”

The 1st lecture of “IISIA Todai Prep-School” (IISIA Prep-School at the University of Tokyo) was held at Shibuya Hikarie on 13th October.
“IISIA Todai Prep-School” provides “Information Literacy” education for undergraduate and postgraduate students as a part of social contribution projects.
The topic of the 1st lecture was “What is “Information Literacy”.
The 3 reasons why “Information Literacy” is important and needed are as follows:
・ The shift to the “small government”
・ “National default”
・ Risks such as “pandemic”
In such situations, it is demanded to make the new era using 3 literacies of “global”, “finance” and “digital” in order to survive.
Moreover, from the perspective of “Information Literacy” in the era of AI, it is expected to make new possibilities by applying the characteristic of “anti-person dependent” through machine learning to liberal arts studies tending to depend on “researcher’s knowledge”.
Meanwhile, we could move forward with “Information Literacy” education with participants from the University of Tokyo and other universities.
“IISIA Todai Prep-School” opens every Wednesday.
The 2nd lecture will start with group work. We hope to deepen our discussions.
We appreciate your continued support.
